I have a new job. I'm waitressing now, at a diner in SE.

Excellent!
Always good to have a means to earn money that doesn't interfere with going to school until you are able to have a job/career that will provide the wherewithall to maintain whatever lifestyle you want to be comfortable. And it's even better to choose some means to make money that is not predicated on your doing something that requires you to interact with people who see others as objects to be used, or to see others as objects to be used yourself.
Last summer, Michael got a job as a door-to-door salesman selling knives. A set cost over $800. They were certainly worth less than $100 and were indiscernible from the ones being advertised on TV for $39.95. He was selling sets and individual pieces to little old ladies around town who felt sorry for him, or couldn't say no, or were just lonely and the hour he spent demonstrating them was their only company. He was good at it, made money, but it made him feel bad about himself because he knew they didn't need the stupid knives. This summer, he's been working for a temp agency in a warehouse loading furniture in boxes to be shipped. Ten hours a day, $10 an hour. But no visions of old ladies' wrinkled hands counting out the dollars to cloud his sleep.....
And I most humbly retract all previous hateful remarks about the composition of your brains.
I am The Wayward E, content for now, merely awaiting the rains. There is sadness coming. The nectarines sink amongst themselves against the glass, growing evermore sticky and too sweet.
